Important Note:  You must meet the counseling office deadlines, NOT the deadline listed on the application.  The counseling office needs time to add transcripts, etc. and get the application in the mail for you. 

Name: Deo B. Colburn Foundation Scholarships
Criteria/Eligibility: 85+ GPA, cumulative from 9th grade. Essay
Amount: Multiple $500 awards, which are potentially renewable
Deadline: All completed materials returned to the Counseling Office by March 20th 2008

Name: Bruce L. Crary Foundation Inc. Scholarships
Criteria/Eligibility: Income in family cannot exceed $60,000(adjusted gross). Academic standing and extra-curricular will be factors. Essay.
Amount: Multiple scholarships range from $600-$1000 and are potentially renewable.
Deadline: All completed materials returned to the Counseling Office by March 20th, 2008

Name: Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York Scholarships
Criteria/Eligibility: Related to or be a firefighter in an affiliated member of the Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York and must reside within New York State.
Amount: Three (3) $1500 awards
Deadline: All completed materials returned to the Counseling Office by February 22nd, 2008

Name: New York Lottery Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship
Criteria/Eligibility: Exemplary leadership in our school. Two seniors will be nominated from AVCS. Applications from these two students will be sent to Albany where the winner will be selected.
Amount: $1000 per year x 4.
Deadline: If you wish to be considered for this scholarship based on your leadership record express your interest to Mr. Rogers by February 28 at the latest.       

Name: Dorothea Deitz Memorial Scholarship
Criteria/Eligibility: Female students planning to major in Physical Education. Character, leadership, academic achievement, athletic participation and financial need.
Amount: Three (3) awards. $6500, $5500, $4500. Freshman year only.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by February 22nd, 2008.

Name: Dottie Harvey Memorial Scholarship
Criteria/Eligibility: Academic achievement, citizenship, personality, leadership, extra-curricular and financial need.
Amount: To be determined.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by March 7th, 2008.

Name: James C. Brannon Award, presented by the Essex County Towns and Villages Highway Superintendents Association
Criteria/Eligibility: Given to a student who will be pursuing Engineering or a closely related field. Resident of Essex County and demonstrate financial need.
Amount: One (1) $1000 award.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by May 2nd, 2008.

Name: Clinton County American Legion “76” Scholarship.
Criteria/Eligibility: Parent or Grandparent must be a member of the American Legion Sons of the American Legion or Ladies Auxiliary. Must be attending either a 2 or 4 year college.
Amount: Two (2) $350 awards.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by April 23.

Name: Foundation of CVPH Medical Center Scholarships.
Criteria/Eligibility: Graduating senior entering a healthcare field.
Amount: One (1) $1000 award. This is for an AVCS student.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by March 21.

Name: New York State Assoc. of Agricultural Fairs and New York State
Showpeople’s Association.
Criteria/Eligibility: Graduating senior planning to pursue a degree in agriculture.
Amount: Six (6) $1000 awards.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by April 2.

Name: The Agricultural & Industrial Fair of Clinton County, Inc Scholarship.
Criteria/Eligibility: Graduating senior pursuing and agricultural or industrial degree. Academic record and financial need considered.
Amount: Six (6) $1000 awards and Two (2) $200 awards.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by April 2.

Name: ARC Foundation of Clinton County Inc. Scholarship.
Criteria/Eligibility: Resident of Clinton County.  Must be pursuing a career in a field related to clinical service for the intellectual and developmentally disabled e.g. Psychology, Special Ed., Physical Therapist.
Amount: One (1) $500 award.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by April 2.

Name: The Elaine Coffin Scholarship.
Criteria/Eligibility: Must be pursuing higher education in the field of Nursing. Academic record, volunteer efforts and financial need taken into consideration.
Amount: One (1) $200 award.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by March 19.

Name: The Civil Service Employees Association, Inc. AFL-CIO Local 810 Clinton County School and Municipal Employees Scholarship.
Criteria/Eligibility: Dependent of a member of the Clinton County School and Municipal Employees Local 810 CSEA. Must be accepted into a post secondary higher education program.
Amount: One (1) $250 award.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by May 1.

Name: CSEA, Irving Flaumenbaum Memorial Scholarship.
Seniors who apply for the Flaumenbaum are automatically in the running for the Pearl Carroll and the MetLife Insurance Company Scholarships.
Criteria/Eligibility: Child of CSEA member who is pursuing higher education. The Pearl Carroll and MetLife awards are for those students entering the SUNY system.
Amount: Flaumenbaum eighteen (18) $1000 awards, Pearl Carroll and MetLife scholarships four (4) $2500 awards.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by April 2.

Name: Wilmington Fire Department Shawn Coarding Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Criteria/Eligibility: Student must reside in the Town of Wilmington and attending a post-secondary program.
Amount: One (1) $500 award.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by April 2.

Name: The William T. Lowe Scholarship Fund
Criteria/Eligibility: Graduating senior pursuing a career in journalism, English or teaching. Financial need and academic standing are factors.
Amount: Awards range from $1000-$3000.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by April 2.

Name: Adirondack Dental Society Dental Hygiene Scholarship.
Criteria/Eligibility: Graduating senior pursuing a career in Dental Hygiene.
Amount: Two (2) $1000 awards.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by April 21.

Name:  Donald Devirgeles Memorial Scholarship
Criteria/Eligibility: 80 GPA or higher. Graduating senior enrolling in a 2 or 4 year college pursuing a degree in the business or math field.
Amount: One (1) $1000 award, Three (3) $500 awards, Two (2) $250 awards.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by 21.

Name: Mohawk Valley Association of Independent Credit Unions Scholarship.
Criteria/Eligibility: Member at Adirondack Regional Federal Credit Union. Graduating senior planning to enroll in either a two or four year college.
Amount: Two (2) $500 awards.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by March 5.

Name: Education College Exchange College Grant.
Criteria/Eligibility: Graduating senior attending college in the fall.
Amount: Four (4) $5000 awards, Thirty (30) $1000 awards.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by March 5.

Name: Clinton County Farm Bureau Scholarship.
Criteria/Eligibility: Son or daughter of Farm Bureau member. Graduating senior enrolling in either a two or four year college studying agriculture or agri-business.
Amount: Multiple $400 awards.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by April 30.

Name: Dr. Robert S. Macdonald and Mary B. Macdonald Scholarship.
Criteria/Eligibility:  Graduating senior pursuing a premed curriculum. Financial need taken into consideration.
Amount: To be determined.
Deadline: All completed materials to the Counseling Office by April 21.
