AVCS Announces Pre-Kindergarten Program

Dear AVCS Community Members,

I am pleased to announce that in the District’s on-going effort to support early learning opportunities at AVCS for our children and communities, we applied for and have been awarded a major grant from the New York State Education Department supporting multiple Pre-Kindergarten programs at AVCS. Programs will be provided at multiple sites within our School District in both AuSable Forks and Keeseville. We expect the program to start on January 22, 2018.

The new AuSable Valley Central School District’s Pre-Kindergarten Early Childhood Program will allow us to offer a free and high quality educational environment for children who are 4 years of age on or before December 1, 2017, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or disability. The program will be a full day program open to families of the District. The Pre-K students will be bused to and from the Pre-K sites and lunch will be provided under the provisions of our school lunch program.

Parents or Guardians who are interested in registering their child can find the application on the District web site (www.avcs.org), or they may call the District Office at (518) 834-2845 to request a registration package. Applications, along with supporting documentation must be received at the District Office, 1273 Rt 9N, Clintonville, NY 12924 by Friday, December 1, 2017. The program will have a limited number of openings and a lottery process will be used by the District to select students for the program. Any students who do not get selected will be placed on a waiting list.

We are very excited about this terrific opportunity and look forward to working together to provide high quality Pre-Kindergarten Programs to the children of our wonderful communities. Any questions regarding the program or the registration process should be directed to the District Office at 518-834-2845. Thank you for your continued support of our School District and for helping to make a difference in the lives of our children.

Sincerely,

Paul D. Savage II
Superintendent
