AFES School Programs & Clubs

Clubs and activities in our building are dynamic and ever changing. Each year our activities may include:

College For Every Student:

Over the course of the last five school years, Au Sable Forks Elementary has been a part of the College For Every Student organization (formerly known as the Foundation for Excellent Schools). This national organization was designed to encourage schools to develop programs which attract students which may not necessarily see college as an option for themselves, but have great potential to succeed. Some of these students are currently successful in school while others have yet to reach their potential. AFES generally chooses the sixth grade to be the scholars. Over the course of the last two years these students have been involved in the following:

  • Mentoring younger students
  • Goal Setting Activities
  • Field trips to colleges
  • Community Projects
  • School Projects
  • Assisting in different areas at school

PBIS Activities:

Students earn Patriot tickets for good behavior. These tickets can be used for a variety of incentives including but not limited to: School Store purchases, feeding the fish, lunch with Mrs. Mason or a family member, students versus faculty kickball or volleyball games, special movies, spa days and more!

Each year we have a spring FUN DAY to celebrate school wide great behavior including games, face painting, photo booth, DJ, dunking booth and a barbecue!

We are currently discussing our options for this year’s musical production. If you are interested in volunteering to help in this effort please contact Mr. Snyder, or Mrs. Mason.

We have a grades 3/4 and grades 5/6 chorus directed by Mr. Matt Snyder.

Fifth and sixth graders may select and take instrument lessons in our building. We have an elementary band that rehearses during and after school.

Field Trips:

Every grade level attends field trips periodically throughout the year, to extend learning opportunities for students.
