Pre-K Program 2021-22

Dear AVCS Community Members,

We are pleased to announce that in the District’s on-going effort to support early learning opportunities at AVCS for our children and communities, we will once again be supporting multiple Pre-Kindergarten programs at AVCS for the 2021-22 school year. Programs will continue to be provided at multiple sites within our School District in both Au Sable Forks and Keeseville. We expect the Fall classes to begin on or about September 8, 2021.

The Au Sable Valley Central School District’s Pre-Kindergarten Early Childhood Program allows us to offer a free and high-quality educational environment for children who are 4 years of age on or before December 1, 2021, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or disability. In Au Sable Forks we will be offering a collaborative Pre-K program as we continue our partnership with ACAP/Head Start for the 2021-22 school year. All Pre-K classrooms will be full day programs open to families of the District.

Pre-K students that are 4 years old at the time school starts will be bused to and from the Pre-K sites. If your child is 3 years old at the time school starts, parents will need to provide transportation to and from the Pre-K sites. As soon as your child turns 4 years old he/she will then be transported to and from school by AVCS. Breakfast and lunch will be provided under the provisions of our school lunch program.

Parents or Guardians who are interested in registering their children for the 2020-21 school year can find the application below, or they may call the Pre-K Coordinator Kevin Hulbert at (518) 834-2800 Ext. 3112 to request a registration packet. Applications, along with supporting documentation, are to be sent to Kevin Hulbert, 1273 Route 9N, Clintonville, New York 12924, and must be received by May 7, 2021.  The program will have a limited number of openings and a lottery process will be used by the District to select students for the program. Any students who do not get selected will be placed on a waiting list.

We continue to be very excited about this terrific opportunity and look forward to working together to provide high quality Pre-Kindergarten Programs to the children of our wonderful communities. Any questions regarding the program or the registration process should be directed to Kevin Hulbert at 518-834-2800 Ext 3112.

Thank you for your continued support of our School District and for helping to make a difference in the lives of our children.

Paul D. Savage II, Superintendent
